I am the Lead Engineer in this project, entrusted with the pivotal responsibility of overseeing the technical design and guiding a proficient team of 8 engineers through the intricate process of developing an array of generic gameplay systems such as Movement, Stealth, Enemy AI, Puzzles, and Sounds, among others. Additionally, I am deeply involved in the creation of game-specific gameplay systems, which include but are not limited to Invisibility, Timeline Switch, and Level Specific puzzles. In the realm of developer systems, my role extends to the implementation of essential tools such as debug tools and metrics collection systems that are instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning and optimization of the overall game development process.

I am also responsible for overseeing the creation and upkeep of crucial documents such as technical design documentation, burndown charts, project plans, and progress reports. These documents play a vital role in facilitating the smooth and efficient development of our fairly large game by providing clear guidelines, recording progress, and identifying any potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement. Additionally, I ensure that these documents are regularly updated and accessible to all team members, enabling seamless collaboration and alignment throughout the development process.

The Story Behind This Game

Machine Heart is a 2D Narrative Driven Puzzle and Stealth Game made with Unity and C# that showcases an intriguing blend of futuristic technology and human resilience. Players will find themselves immersed in the compelling narrative that unfolds across two distinct timelines. In one, they will navigate through the dark, neon-lit streets of a future dystopian Cyberpunk world, while in the other, they will traverse a desolate, post-apocalyptic post-human world where humans strive to survive against all odds. The game offers a unique opportunity for players to explore the contrasting environments and engage with the challenges presented in each timeline, ultimately uncovering the profound connections between the characters and their respective worlds.

What makes this game unique is its innovative approach to storytelling, incorporating cross-timeline puzzles that add a fascinating layer of complexity to gameplay. Players must carefully consider how their actions in the past will impact the future, as well as how information from the future can be strategically utilized in the past.
